It’s been one month since the lock down and we are all wondering when it will end, but we must continue to be optimistic as we continue to weather this pandemic storm.
We are hoping you are doing well and are here to support you. Times are challenging, but we appreciate your patience and encourage you to continue to be calm and stay as active as possible while following the advice of the public health authority.
Based on the information we have at present from public health, our clinic is designated an essential service.
We will therefore continue to be open for emergency medical situations. Your health and safety are our main concern. The office is sanitized based on the directive from the public health. We are also following the guidelines for safe distancing. Please see below for our present protocol of our services for the next two weeks leading up to April 30th.
Our physiotherapists are still not treating any patients in the clinic. However, physiotherapist Stephanie McCann is set up for doing virtual consult and tele-rehabilitation/video conferencing through Physio-Track. If you have approved ICBC physio visits that have not been used up, you may take advantage of it through the online platform. Please contact the office or Stephanie to set these up. Also, we now understand that most third-party billings (i.e. Blue Cross, GWL, Sunlife etc.) have approved tele-rehab in light of the present situation. We encourage you to please check with your individual provider directly to ensure that’s the case.
Our Massage Therapists are also not treating any patients at this time based on the recommendation from their regulatory college.
We are offering emergency chiropractic care (musculoskeletal pain, joint issues as well as post-surgical rehabilitation) to our community on as needed basis. If you need help please contact us directly by emailing us at info@maxfitmovement.ca or 604-461-6888 to book an appointment. We will try our best to reply as soon as we are able to due to limited office staff. We also ask that if you are experiencing any symptoms such as fever, coughing, sore throat, runny nose or are feeling unwell, please do not book any appointments currently.
But, we are here for you:
- As promised in our last update, our physiotherapists will be hosting a complimentary online Zoom meeting this Saturday April 18th to demonstrate how to practice Pilates at home. Please feel free to email us if you might be interested in this adventure so we can add your name to the list and send a Zoom invite your way.
- Most of you are working now from home and many have children participating in virtual school. Your living space may not be optimum to be used as office space or classroom, so our Maxfit team has taken this into consideration and put together some important information addressing ergonomic (workstation) postural advice and setup (stay tuned for next post!) Please feel free to call us or email with any questions.
Finally, if you’re having trouble getting groceries and supplies, please feel to contact our office. We would be happy to assist with the delivery of supplies if you do not feel safe going to your local food store. Please send us an e-mail at info@maxfitmovement.ca or call the office at 604-461-6888 and we will get back to in 1-2 days.
Stay healthy, hopeful and moving. We’re in it together!
